MikeCheck: As NBA’s most prominent active HBCU alum, Covington applauds Grizzlies efforts to honor Black College community leaders
Starting Tuesday night at FedExForum, the Grizzlies will honor a different graduate in each of the team’s six February home games with an HBCU Empowerment Award. The franchise will also contribute $1,000 to the scholarship fund of the HBCU that the honoree attended.

Mike Conley confirmed on Monday he has accepted the league’s invitation to participate in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge as part of the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night at the Spectrum Center. All-Star Weekend is Feb. 15-17 at the home arena of the Charlotte Hornets.
