Can the Tigers roar?

Go Tigers Go

I don’t know how effective this Memphis roster will be, but I know Charles Huff has won sixty percent of the college football games he’s coached, so I trust Coach Huff to figure out how to keep his team in games this season, if not on top.

All we have left is to play the games. Pass the chips and dip.

Little Big Leagues

We’ve talked a bit in this newsletter about how this is generally a dry time for sports fans, without a ton of viewing options as we wait for all the fall sports to arrive. Which is why I’ve been surprised to find myself locked in on an event this month that I’ve never really cared much about before: The Little League World Series.

We Will Always Love You

When I was growing up, for many people in my life country music was something authentic and integrated. For me, it was something on my fringes, a type of music that other people listened to. It was fine, it just wasn’t for me.

But I watched a lot of TV as a kid, and waaay back in the day, when HBO was the lone channel showing movies, it seemed like they showed 9 To 5 once a day. This was my introduction to Dolly Parton, who passed away earlier this week at the age of 80.

We need more, not less, people like Dolly. May she rest in peace.
