Summer Lovin’
I suppose summer officially began back in May or June. For me as a parent, summer officially begins when school lets out. At least, that’s when my schedule dramatically shifts. No more daily routine of waking up, getting to school, home for dinner, then off to bed early. Summer is a more abstract time, with the chance to indulge in some luxuries that only present themselves over these few hot months.
Without that bulging smorgasbord of sports action to fill our evenings and weekends, we can discover time to find zen in many other activities. I asked a few of the Grind City Media personalities who were hanging around the office on Thursday morning for their quick top five lists of things to do in the summer…

Odds and Ends…
- Quick review time: My son and I have been watching “The Hawk” on Netflix, a golf comedy from Will Ferrell. I love Ferrell, but this feels mostly derivative, as though it’s made entirely from cobbled together leftovers of “Stick” and Happy Gilmore 1 and 2. That being said, it’s still pretty watchable, and I really like Fortune Feimster, who plays Ferrell’s caddy…
