Shortstop Ozzie Smith, who was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame with the class of 2002 for his tenure with the San Diego Padres and the St. Louis Cardinals was recognized as a National Civil Rights Museum Sports Legacy honoree, presented by Mid-South Ford. Smith made a pit-stop on the Chris Vernon Show where he and Chris Vernon reminisced about Smith’s first glove, his legacy, and the impact he had on Chris Vernon. Ozzie speaks about the legacy he’s left after the baseball diamond, giving back to his community and being a role model for the youth of St. Louis.
Now, 28 years out of the MLB, Ozzie Smith is leaving a new legacy. These days, he is focused on continuing to bring his work ethic from baseball into his post-career life. To be known for the person that puts his heart and soul into everything he does.
